T-SHIRTS
The school still has some T-shirts for sale for $8. We have child small, medium, and large. There are adult medium, large, and extra-large. Quantities are limited.
INTERNET PROBLEMS AT SCHOOL
We are experiencing some problems with our server that is limiting the internet access to the computers. Please be patient with us as we sort this out.
MAGAZINE DRIVE
This is the home stretch of our magazine drive. The last day to turn in will be Monday October 1st. We have done about a $1000 in online sales! I have yet to total all the sales from orders turned in at school. We have lots of extra order forms and catalogs on the front table by Anita’s office. Please help yourself.
SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING
Tuesday night is the date set for Safe Environment Training. This is required for parents and anyone interested in driving for field trips, helping with class parties, classroom tutors, or any activity in which you may work alone with children. So see you tomorrow night at 7:00 Room 2. If you cannot make this date there will be another training in October at the Newman Center.
POTLUCK and OTHER GATHERING
For those who missed it, I will say it was a good one. We are hoping to do something of a social or educational nature once a month. We are planning a Reading Night on October 18, a Milk Can Supper on November 29, the Christmas Program is December 13, and Math Night on January 21.
HOME AND SCHOOL MEETING
One important date coming up is the Fall Barbecue at the church parking lot that will be held Friday, October 12 from 4:00 to 7:00. This year we are linking the event to the Air Force-Wyoming Homecoming Football Game. We will be sending sign-up sheets home in the next week. Our giant Spring Fiesta is set for May 4 so mark your calendar.
MR. JIMS PIZZA
Mr. Jim’s Pizza is our exclusive Pizza Parlor for this school year. We are not locked in to a specific day so keep the flyer on the fridge and give it to the driver or take it to Mr. Jim’s for a school contribution of 10%.
SAFEWAY SHOPPERS
We have a deal for you! Buy a $10 reloadable card and use it whenever you shop at Safeway for groceries, spirits, gas, and prescriptions. No more forgetting to stop by the school to buy a card. You can load any amount onto the card at the store before you checkout. We also have the traditional cards in $50 or $100 amounts.
Also, don’t forget about the Safeway Back to School campaign. All you need to do is drop your Safeway receipts, with the Back to School code on them, in the big Campbell’s Soup Can by the office door. This is a limited time campaign so gather up all those cash register slips from family, friends, and neighbors.
K-KIDS
The students in grades 3rd through 6th will be a part of a service organization called K-Kids which is the youth arm of Kiwanis of Laramie. The first project for them is Peanut Day on October 6. More details about that day will be going home to parents next week. Katrina Cox is the Kiwanis sponsor.
FOOD FOR THE POOR
I believe there is strength in numbers, so I thought it would be a great idea if the students took up a daily collection for the poor. Every day at lunch, after prayer, we will ask the children to bring donate their change for the poor. Please be generous in this effort to Feed the Hungry. Donations will be made to the Catholic Organization Food for the Poor.
MISCELANEOUS NOTES
Students in grades K-6 will be dismissed through the South Gym Doors at the corner of Sheridan and 4th Street. Please wait outside for your children in order to avoid congestion in the halls and lobby.
In keeping with the new federal food mandates, please
consider sending fruit, veggies, cheese, fruit popsicles, or
other healthy treats for birthday or holiday celebrations.
