Something Chilly This Way Comes!
November 10-14, 2014
Perhaps our lovely extended autumn may come to an end this week with snow and cold temperatures predicted. If it does really come, please make sure your child has the necessary cold weather gear: warm coat, snow pants, hat, mittens or gloves, and boots. Thanks! We may need to postpone our trip to the Abbey due to the cold and lack of drivers. We will let you know as soon as the change is confirmed. Thanks.
In reading/language we will read riddles and a story about a moose who tells riddles; how fun! Skills include sequencing story events, contractions with not, and long e spelled e or ee.
We are moving along well in math, this week learning about 5 as the minuend and numbers 6-10 as 5 and some more. We will likely also get to 10 as the minuend and relate this to facts that = 10.
Science finds us learning much about the Sun. We will make a class book about the Sun, each page dealing with another fact about it. I am working on a trip to the UW Planetarium and hopefully, a NASA virtual field trip in late November.
In religion we will learn the 7 Sacraments this week, talk about why they are important, and also think about thankfulness.
