Grade 5-6 News 1-28-15

We will conclude our review unit in spelling this week. Ten challenge words were in this unit. Even though this is a review unit I have decided to keep five of these ten words as challenge words so that students can earn extra credit points. Honoring student requests for a Spelling Bee, I will have a Spelling Bee for each review unit. Our Spelling Bee this week was today since we have resumed our regular Thursday mass schedule.

I have prioritized history units for the remainder of the year to cover areas I feel will be most beneficial. Currently we are studying the growth of democracy.

We have had more absences this week than we have all year. We hope those who are home sick this week recover quickly. We hope the rest of us stay well!

Class Supplies Needed!!!

There are just a few class supplies we need replenished. If you can send some with your child I would greatly appreciate it.

Supplies needed:

· Paper towels (we are down to our last roll!)

· Clorox Disinfecting Wipes (only one spare left)

Computer paper (sometimes I have to use my own to make double-sided copies when the front office is out)

Please keep encouraging your child to read for Book It. Reading logs for the month of January went home last week. If you have not sent sheets back for December, please do so ASAP. For more information go to: www.pizzahut.com/bookit
